Apple Public Source License

The APSL license is used by Apple to release as open source the Darwin operating system and several other projects. Apple also uses other licenses including the Apache License to release other software components. The text of the license is given as a template which has been modified for individual projects. The license has been approved by the Free Software Foundation, but they do not recommend its use on new projects as it is not compatible with the GNU GPL.
